The Mississippi Food Network isn't a large organization, but it definitely has a large mission. The food bank serves approximately 100,000 people a month and feels a responsibility to not just provide food, but nutrition education as well.

A few years back, the San Antonio Food Bank created a community garden on approximately five acres of land. Last year alone, the garden produced 40,000 pounds of produce.

Food Share Food Bank serves Ventura County, Calif., an area rich with fruit and vegetable farms. Unfortunately, the area is also plagued by poverty and hunger. Fresh produce is expensive. The workers tending the farms often can't afford to feed their children the healthy food they help grow.
