Food Share Food Bank serves Ventura County, Calif., an area rich with fruit and vegetable farms. Unfortunately, the area is also plagued by poverty and hunger. Fresh produce is expensive. The workers tending the farms often can't afford to feed their children the healthy food they help grow.

Arizona is indeed the sunshine state. It has an impressively warm, sunny climate — ideal for producing bounties of citrus, such as oranges, grapefruits, lemons and limes. It's only natural then, that St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance in Phoenix takes advantage its surroundings.

Three years ago today, I became an Aunt for the first time. Being an Aunt to my nephew is an awesome thing. I get to give fun presents; I get to have Skype dates with him, even though he is much more interested in seeing my dog than me, and every time I see him I'm shocked by how much he's learned since last time.

Doing some research surrounding Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, I was pleasantly surprised to find this quote about hunger that he made in 1964 at a lecture at a college.
