Every year, the Chronicle of Philanthropy examines the landscape of nonprofits in the US and compiles their 400 list showing the largest nonprofits in the country. The Feeding America nationwide network of food banks is not new to this list and was placed at #5 for the second year in a row. This is a testament to the widespread issue of hunger in our country and our ability to respond to it.

The strength of our network is shown as there was a 22% growth from the previous year. While the issue of hunger is ever expanding, our network of food banks is continuing to grow to meet the need of hungry Americans. Food and funds given are used efficiently and effectively to get food to people strugging.

The publication also took a deeper look at individual food banks demonstrating that the trend of expansion to meet the need is happening across the country.
