Earlier this year, I visited an amazing pantry in Wheaton, Illinois called People's Resource Center, a partner agency to the Northern Illinois Food Bank. I volunteered to staff the bread station and pass out loaves of bread to clients. As a young woman approached me, I asked her just one simple question.

On a rainy December day, umbrellas provided little shelter to families waiting in line to receive food from the Lord's Lambs Ministry Food Pantry, an agency of the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Patiently, soaked and tired clients came in one by one to fill their boxes with food. They were greeted inside by Bruce and Lillian Spencer, who are both ready to guide them through the tractor-trailer full of food.
