Feeding America, the nation's largest hunger-relief organization, announced today that it will partner with Gap Inc. through its"Give & Get" program to help raise funds for Feeding America's essential country-wide food assistance programs.

Feeding America is one of six non-profit organizations that Gap Inc. will partner with during the upcoming"Give & Get" promotion. For three days in March, Gap Inc. will provide its employees and a group of customers with a 30% discount, and Gap Inc. will donate 5% of total"Give & Get" sales to the six non-profits, with customers and employees deciding which non-profit they would like to support. The discount can be shared with additional friends and family so that their purchases during the"Give & Get" promotion will also support the selected non-profit.

"With the recession taking a daily toll on American families, a record number of people are turning to Feeding America's network of over 200 food banks to help provide food for themselves and their family. Feeding America is struggling to accommodate the dramatic increase in need," says Vicki Escarra, president and CEO of Feeding America."The Give & Get partnership with Gap Inc. is a great, new way for us to bring in desperately needed funds to help keep up with the demand."

As many non-profits are experiencing, the economy has impacted funding. Feeding America will use the funds raised through the"Give & Get" promotion as well as the $100,000 grant received from Gap Inc. earlier this year to help support its on-going efforts to put food on the table of American families.

"Feeding America fulfills such an important role by providing food for millions of Americans every single day," says Bobbi Silten, Gap Foundation's Chief Foundation Officer."All of us at Gap Inc. are proud to support essential non-profit organizations like Feeding America, especially during these challenging times when they need our support most."

In addition to Feeding America, other non-profit partners included in Gap Inc.'s March promotion include Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Teach for America, The Global Fund and World Wildlife Fund. The program started in 2008 and has raised $4.3 million for non-profit partners to date.
