Job Responsibilities

• To keep Safety a primary focus. (Your safety as well as that of co-workers, volunteers and safety as it pertains to the food we handle, store and distribute.)
• To include, but not be limited to, items on zone checklist
• Maintain daily/weekly zone checklists
• Compact cardboard by flattening the boxes, putting them in cardboard compactor and run the machine per assignment.
• Empty garbage in warehouse from various areas. Take garbage to garbage compactor per assignment. Empty garbage from all exterior containers including smoke stations.
• Run garbage compactor when full or as needed.
• Clean, sweep, scrub and mop assigned area following guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the food bank warehouse.
• Other duties as assigned.

Application Qualifications

• Some high school preferred
• Previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Ability to take direction and focus on the task at hand
• An eye for cleanliness and organizational skills helpful.
• Pallet jack and ride-on Floor Scrubber experience a plus.
• Ability to learn pallet jack, cardboard and garbage compactor procedures, floor scrubber operation, scissors lift operation and be qualified on all equipment required to complete daily tasks.
• Ability to adapt to varied work requirements; flexibility; capacity to work cooperatively with other staff and volunteers;
• Ability to both speak and write English;
• Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
