Job Responsibilities

The Food Access Transportation and Logistics Assistant will:
• Oversee the transportation and logistics for SFBFS’ Food for Seniors distributions
• Picking, palletizing and staging products in advance of delivery as well as creating invoices for Food for Senior orders
• Delivering food to Food for Seniors distribution sites
• Assisting the Program Coordinator with distribution facilitation, as needed
• Maintaining accurate driver logs and overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of vehicles used for implementation
• Other duties as assigned

Application Qualifications

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Possess and maintain an unrestricted California Class C driver’s license; with less than three moving violations in a three-year period
• One year of route driving experience in 24-26ft refrigerated or dry cargo box truck preferably with liftgate
• Forklift certified; or complete employer forklift certification within first 90 days of employment
• Experience managing volunteers of all ages and abilities-preferred
• One year of previous warehouse experience including inventory/order picking, pallet jacks and other related warehouse-preferred
• Fluency in a second language-preferred.

Additional Information

The Food Access Transportation and Logistics Assistant works with the Food Access team to implement the organization’s Food for Seniors distributions. Food for Seniors provides healthy, nutritious food to low income Sacramento County seniors. These distributions occur at senior housing complexes, community centers and local food pantries. The Food Access Transportation and Logistics Assistant plays a critical role in the team by performing warehouse duties, transporting product and assisting with distribution facilitation.
