Job Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:
I. Oversees CFBNJ’s Corporate Relations activities and develops and implements a plan to achieve an annual corporate fundraising target.
II. Identifies key corporate and corporate foundation prospects and builds a pipeline for future support of CFBNJ.
III. Develops mutually beneficial and revenue-generating partnership opportunities with companies by linking the mission of CFBNJ with their corporate and philanthropic missions.
IV. Develops, writes, and submits proposals to corporations and corporate foundations tailored to the needs and specific requirements of the potential supporters.
V. Stewards current and prospective corporate donors through activities such as phone calls, email, meetings and visits, as appropriate.
VI. Works closely with CFBNJ’s Food Sourcing and Volunteer divisions to maximize corporate engagement. Serves as an additional point-of-contact for all Food Sourcing and Volunteer corporate cultivation efforts, as well as solicits new potential general funders from these areas, as appropriate.
VII. Maintains and documents comprehensive information on all of the corporate relationships under management and for ensuring this information is properly archived.
VIII. Maximizes engagement of New Jersey’s small business community.

Application Qualifications

Skills and Experience:
 7-10 years relevant experience
 General knowledge of fundraising and/or corporate sales principles and techniques
 Demonstrated ability to function as an integral part of a professional development team, making substantial contributions to increasing the bottom line
 Self-starter with the ability to work both entrepreneurially and as a part of a team
 Ability to identify donors and cultivate relationships leading to substantial commitments
 Strong organizational skills
 Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to target messages to various audiences
 Extremely high comfort level presenting to business executives
 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a flair for creativity
 Ability to multi-task Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey seeks to expand its roster of mutually beneficial and long-term corporate partnerships that generate revenue, volunteerism and in-kind product donations in support of its mission. Under the management of the Vice President of Resource Development, the Director of Corporate Relations is responsible for managing all strategies and activities for corporate donor cultivation and solicitation.
