Performs the daily cash deposits. Separates the deposits to contributed revenues versus operating revenues and miscellaneous revenue, Performs the Remote Deposit Capture process by running checks through the scanner. Records deposits in the Accounting software in a timely manner. Prepares actual cash deposits when necessary. Posts Agency payments in the Primarius system and thus relieving accounts receivable balances. Ensures checks are posted against the correct open invoices and against the correct agency account. Aids agencies with help with their account balances. Performs the entire Accounts Payable function. Enters vendor invoices into the Accounts Payable system, produces accounts payable checks, prepares checks for signature and ensures checks have been mailed after signature. Aids in the payroll process. Checks the hourly time sheets for math accuracy, completes the data time transmittal sheet and sends it to the payroll vendor for processing. Maintains the potential employee files. Makes sure employee applications are available at the Front Desk, that open applications are organized, are on file and available in case a position opens or the decision to hire staff people is made. Reviews candidates, makes interview appointments and performs reference checks. Performs various HR functions such as but not limited to making sure new employees are enrolled in the Health Insurance program, that new employees are aware of and enrolling employees in the 403B plan and enrolling them in the SEP Plan when employees are eligible. Coordinates the volunteers to man the Front Desk and fills in at the Front Desk in the absence of volunteers. Answers the telephone in a professional manner and directs callers to the proper person. Opens the mail, and greets and assists visitors to where they need to go in the building or to who they need to see. Perform various administrative duties as necessary including, but not limited to, administrative help to other Leadership Team members, distributing mail, taking and preparing meeting minutes, collecting the materials for and the distribution of the Board Meeting packets. Cultivates positive relations with agencies, program participants, Foodbank staff, volunteers, donors and other constituents.
High School Diploma is required, Associates Degree in Accounting desirable Minimum 3 years of office experience performing similar tasks Long-range planning and follow-through skills Ability to multi-task with a strong sense of meeting goals and deadlines Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to work well collaboratively and independently Computer proficiency including experience in all Microsoft applications Working knowledge of accounting software and the ability to learn our systems, especially Primarius. An interest in hunger issues and helping to end hunger in our service area

River Bend Foodbank, a non –profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 1982, collects wholesome donations of food from the food industry for distribution to more than 300 charitable community organizations that support the hungry. Located in Davenport, Iowa, River Bend Foodbank has 60,000 square feet of warehouse space. Our facilities include a 3,600 square foot freezer/cooler unit with almost 4,000 cubic feet of frozen and cold storage. This allows the Foodbank to handle donations of grocery product that our member charities are unable to handle on their own. The Foodbank’s service area includes the Quad Cities and 22 counties in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. River Bend Foodbank leads the way as the most cost effective distributor of donated food in the community. The food that our member agencies receive is free, with a shared maintenance fee included on most items to help defray the cost of transporting, soliciting, collecting, sorting, inspecting and distributing the food that serve families in need. For every $1 donated, we can distribute $10 worth of food. Our partner agency programs save millions of dollars each year by using our food distribution program. We also provide direct service to hungry kids through our Kids Cafés which serves thousands of meals annually. In the fall of 2007 the Foodbank implemented the Backpack Program which has grown to serve 2800 needy children on a weekly basis.
Primary responsibilities include the support of the Finance and Human Resources Department with all day to day activities and processes. These include but are not limited to functions of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and benefits processing, cash posting and deposits. Performs coordination of volunteers to cover the front desk and covers the front desk in their absence. Assists the RBFB Leadership Team with any help as need or as available. Helps to build awareness of the Foodbank, its mission and vision, programs and achievements.
