• Food Sourcing Strategy & Data Analysis: Creates and maintains the annual, reforecast and quarterly Food Sourcing Projection Model. Innovates new and efficient ways of analyzing data and using data to inform strategic decisions. Analyzes the Food Sourcing department data, strategic and budgetary goals, and creates reports and presentations for COO, Director, Associate Directors and Sr. Manager as needed.
• Excellent, Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (including writing complex formulas, macros and goal seek, prior experience in building and using Excel-based decision models is preferred).

City Harvest pioneered food rescue in 1982 and, this year, will collect 59 million pounds of excess food to help feed the nearly 1.3 million New Yorkers struggling to put meals on their tables. Through relationships with farms, grocers, restaurants, and manufacturers, City Harvest collects nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste and delivers it free of charge to 500 soup kitchens, food pantries and other community food programs across the five boroughs. City Harvest is seeking a full-time, temp-to-perm, Food Procurement Strategy and Data Analysis Manager who is highly motivated by City Harvest’s mission and goal to rescue and deliver 59 million pounds of food in 2017. The main job function will be to independently manage data analysis and integrity to help shape the organization’s food sourcing strategy. The candidate will take ownership of the department's complex finance reforecast and annual budget process. The candidate will also assist in finding new sources of excess food regionally and provide overlapping coverage for inbound freight scheduling and work with third-party trucking carriers.
The Food Procurement Strategy and Data Analysis Manager will report to the Senior Manager, Procurement & Logistics, and will be based in City Harvest’s midtown Manhattan office.
